Founded in 2011 by Jaimie Lim in California, Kayu stands for bags and accessories made from natural and sustainable materials, made according to long traditions of craftsmanship. Kayu works with women cooperatives that support disadvantaged women and train them in handicrafts in both the Philippines and California.

Kayu bags are carefully hand-woven by women in the Philippines. Only indigenous techniques are used that have been passed on through generations. The bags are embroidered and finished in California.

KAYU supports women in preserving and promoting their unique cultural heritage and in offering them a fair living income.
